I’m Still Not Over … Lorelai sleeping with Christopher on ‘Gilmore Girls’
Skip navigation! Story from TV Shows. Ally Hickson. Is there any television debate more contentious than this one? For those who don’t know, there are three teams backing past boyfriends as strong contenders — Team Jess, Team Dean, and Team Logan. All claim that Rory Gilmore’s heart has always belonged to one man. All claim that she is only compatible with one man. All claim that the proof is in the show’s past seven seasons.
This is the ‘Gilmore Girls’ episode where Lorelai and Luke’s relationship began
Luke and Lorelai meet due to – of all things – Lorelai’s need for coffee. They become friends a few years later and have a bantering relationship, mostly based on Luke providing Lorelai and Rory with food and coffee — according to Lorelai whenever somebody brings up romance and Luke in the same sentence. Eventually, the two start dating and both seem to experience, for the first time in their adult lives, a real, committed relationship with someone they love.
Luke is presumably attracted to Lorelai from their first encounter as it is discovered that he has kept a memento from their meeting years later; the hand-written Scorpio horoscope stating “You will meet an annoying woman today, give her coffee and she will go away” that Lorelai gave to Luke eight years earlier is brought out and mentioned during their first date, and signifies Luke’s commitment to their relationship.
, The Lorelais’ First day at Chilton, Rory starts at Chilton, Rory, , Sept , Double Date, Luke tries to ask Lorelai out, Luke, Lorelai, , The Ins and Outs of Inns, Luke tells Lorelai she can do the inn, Luke, Lorelai,
And we could not be more excited to see how everyone is faring. In the early days of the show, Rory and Dean are pretty darn cute together. After going through a short breakup —Dean says I love you and Rory just says thank you in return—they get back together at the end of season one. That’s when Dean comes to visit Rory at her school, Chilton, and sees her talking to Tristan, a jerky classmate who kissed her once so much drama.
Obvi, Dean gets pissed and is about leave when Rory tells him to stop. Her chemistry with diner owner Luke Danes was off the charts, after all. But Max’s proposal at the end of season one still left us teary.
Here’s What Happens To Luke And Lorelai In The “Gilmore Girls” Revival
At its core, Gilmore Girls has always been a series about the relationship and love between a mother and daughter, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. Over the course of seven seasons on The WB and The CW, as well as a mini-series revival on Netflix, Gilmore Girls explored the ups and downs of this relationship as it grew and changed over time, and as Rory developed into an adult and made her own share of mistakes that Lorelai never wanted her to make.
Yet as much as the series focused on this central relationship, it also often veered off into different directions, especially when the romance department was concerned. As a teenager and eventual young adult, Rory had her fair share of romantic relationships — most of which are, in retrospect, fairly troubling if not outright insulting.
Rory Gilmore, world’s worst journalist, is pregnant with her first child. Lorelai made it pretty clear that she wants children (she and Luke even considered a surrogate), and while a grandchild *might* do the trick, her bout of.
And even though Luke and Lorelai do get their happy ending — it still bothers me that at the end of the sixth season, she slept with Christopher David Sutcliffe and then married him in season 7. Seriously, it has kept me up at night. Christopher was a crappy father to Rory: Seriously, he sucked, Until he offered to pay her Yale tuition, he was barely around. Remember when he promised to be with Lorelai, then ran back to his ex-girlfriend Sherry?
Yes, he accidentally got Sherry pregnant, but still. And since that was his second unplanned insemination, he probably should have learned to use a condom. At the party, Christopher drank too much and came between Luke and Lorelai, leaving a broken-hearted Lorelai to chase after her boyfriend. What about you PopWatchers? Are you still as mad as me about how Lorelai ended up in bed with Chris after walking away from Luke?

Luke and Lorelai moments
After four seasons of buildup, against all possible odds, the Luke and Lorelai relationship starts out so promisingly, it makes it even more maddening to consider what happened to them later. The dinner conversation is both revealing and endearing, as Luke talks about how the couple helped him build his own restaurant. So telling how Luke remembers every moment of their first meeting. Amy Sherman-Palladino giveth, and she taketh away.
He was so mad at her just last week, and now just lets her into his house without a word. I get kids, and hormones, so as we see the next episode, they just want to have sex all the time, but the only good part about Logan is that it means Dean will soon be riding off into the sunset forever.
It’s hard to imagine Lorelai with anyone other than Luke but in real life, this Gilmore Girl has been dating actor Peter Krause since
Only without his signature plaid shirt and backward baseball cap on very rare occasions, Luke owned an eponymous diner in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Conn. As viewers know, that, of course, did happen with a massive build-up to Luke and Lorelai going on their first date. It’s about time they went on a date! But for all of the reasons that made Luke a fan favorite, from his hilarious rants to being a good friend to Kirk Gleason , he still had some missteps.
Known around town as the woman Luke still pined for years after her abrupt departure, Rachel showed up on a whim and wanted to figure out if she and Luke could rekindle their relationship. He avoided Rachel so much that she went to Lorelai for help. There were countless times in season 1, 2, and 3 when Luke almost told Lorelai he had feelings for her. Just as she was leaving the diner Rachel told Luke not to wait too long to tell Lorelai how he felt. That was in the finale episode of season 1, according to Fandom.
Season 1! Had Luke gotten up the courage to tell Lorelai how he felt it may not have been years before they started dating. But alas, Lorelai had already rekindled her romance with Max when Rachel left, and not long after they got engaged, closing the window of opportunity Luke had to share his feelings.

Who Should Rory Gilmore End Up With?
Honestly, we felt more invested in the on-screen relationships of the Gilmore Girls cast than our own. Yes, we loved the focus on their ambition, their confidence and their mother-daughter connection but the show would definitely not have been the same without their impressive list of romantic relationships. Lorelai and Rory were the ultimate team that we wanted to emulate. But as love stories sometimes work, things just take a little time. Image Source.

We all know it was always supposed to be Luke and Lorelai, together forever, in Gilmore Girls , but when it came down to Rory’s love interests, it was consistently a debate among the fandom. You may have friends who believed that Rory was supposed to end up with her first love, Dean, or her college bae, Logan. And yes, they were both great matches for Rory at different stages of her life, but in my opinion, it was Jess who was the one.

And though a June 3rd wedding was in the works for a while, the couple had broken it off before they could say, “I do. As Patterson told the podcast Gilmore Guys , “[the fans] waited seven years for a wedding they never got. Here’s how we see Luke “table-for-one” Danes and Lorelai “I’m-sorry-can-I-get-an-industrial-forklift-for-my-emotional-baggage” Gilmore getting married. One thing’s for sure about this wedding: It will be intimate and relatively simple.
While Luke would probably rather elope, they’ve both already done that—Luke with Nicole and Lorelai with Christopher—with failed results. Since their summer wedding was a bust, it’ll be winter—Lorelai’s favorite time of year. And of course it will snow just in time for the big day: The best things in her life always happen when it snows. If you assumed L and L would make it official in a sweet ceremony in the town square gazebo, think again.
